Youth Trend Study 2025
The Future of Germany

In the Youth Trend Study 2025 (Jugendtrendstudie 2025), over 5,649 people provide a ruthless insight into their attitude to life – between fear of the future, political division and the desire for more self-determination.

What happens when fear becomes a constant companion?

The Youth Trend Study 2025 shows: Generation Z is growing up in a climate of uncertainty, over-exertion, and fear of the future. Instead of hope, there is mistrust – of politics, society, and themselves. Traditional security is crumbling, the middle class is tearing apart – and the world of work is being radically transformed by AI.

Key findings of the Youth Trend Study 2025

  • Many young women have a strong fear of men – none of them feel free of fear in public spaces.

  • Generation Z is suffering from increasing over-exertion, insecurity and disorientation.

  • Women to the left, men to the right – the middle is losing importance.

  • Fear of job loss due to AI is widespread; flexible working hours are demanded.

  • Those who are committed have fewer fears and more satisfaction with life.

  • Compulsory military or community service is strongly rejected by many.
